  • Trichocereus peruvianus Shorty – Short Spined peruviana
  • 50cm + chunky cuts
  • Unrooted
  • Region: Matucuna, Peru (Originally cloned and isolated by a German grower)

All 6 have already started rooting so they will hit the ground running, my pleasure :-). I am not listing them separately, they are all too similar but if you are specific about one, please let me know in the notes when ordering.

As clones go, Shorty is pretty unique. A gorgeous short-spined peruviana with a beautiful grey/glaucous sheen, they are fast growers and belong in any collector’s garden.

I only have the 6 x 50cm+ cuts in stock.

A great cut, with the bonus of having begun rooting on arrival. A good sign of things to come! I should have photographed those roots rather than the top to illustrate his vigour.
A few weeks later though and I'm pleased to report he's firm in his pot, fully rehydrated and colouring up nicely. Will be a monster in no time.

I knew from the description that these cactus would be quite a substantial size but only from seeing them first hand can you truly appreciate their health and massiveness :-) plenty of roots already bursting through on this cut and have already settled well into their new pots and are loving life! All arrived in perfect shape, they were well packed and arrived quickly. Very pleased with all aspects of this transaction. Thank you so much, Byron!

Steps For Rooting

Once the cut is received, place it around 1/2 inch to 1 inch in a pot of substrate. I use wooden kebab skewers to hold up the piece. Water lightly and you should start getting new root growth within a few weeks to a few months depending on conditions.

An alternative way would be to stick them in perlite and wait for them to root, once roots form you can re-pot.

All plants sold are strictly for garden / ornamental purposes. We are here to cultivate these beautiful plants and spread them as far as we can, nothing outside of growing (all things related to growing) will be tollerated.
