2 FOR 1 Trichocereus bridgesii OP – Bolivian Torch Seedlings

This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

These are Open Pollinated meaning that the mother is known (Trichocereus bridgesii) but the father is not. Given that there was only pachanois and bridgesii flowering at the time, they are either pure Trichocereus bridgesii or a Tr. Bridgesii x Tr. pachanoi (San Pedro) cross.

These are some of the best-looking seedlings I have grown, there are some real beauties here.

Please note: these are sent bare root to protect the plants while in transit. Please ensure you have suitable substrate and pot ready for your new plant.

If you have any questions about substrate or anything, please use the contact form and I will be happy to help with any questions.

Origin and Habitat

Trichocereus Bridgesii, also known as Echinopsis Lageniforms hails mainly out of the Bolivian mountains but grows pretty much throughout Bolivia (Tarija, Santa Cruz, Chochabamba, LA PAZ, & Chuquisaca).

Trichocereus bridgesii has been renamed to Echinopsis lageniformis by Friedrich and Rowley during their 1974 merger of the genus Echinopsis. The name Echinopsis bridgesii was already taken by a clumping Echinopsis species from Bolivia, which is a totally different plant and should not be confused with Trichocereus bridgesii.

UK Growing

In the UK, Bridgesii’s are quite popular due to their hardiness and can handle our low temp during winter (around 5C before bringing inside, although, adults can go lower). Flowers produce after around 10 years of growth, so, patience is required. Bridgesii differ in terms of humidity requirements, they do not tolerate high humidity very well and can form rot if left in high humidity for long periods.

All our cacti are shipped bare root to protect the cacti, please ensure you have suitable substrate and a pot for your new dude.

    Bridgesii review
Very beautiful cacti, looks like they were grown well and in very optimal conditions. Both have already anchored into the soil, very strong roots.
