🌵 Sharxx Blue x Ikaros DNA 🌵

An elite blue Peruvian cross combining proven Sharxx Blue clone genetics with wild-collected DNA.

Overview

A cross between Trichocereus peruvianus ‘Sharxx Blue’ and Ikaros DNA (Matucan, Peru), bringing together intense blue colouration, strong structure, and genetic diversity.

This hybrid leans towards Peruvianus-type traits, producing tall, well-defined columns with a glaucous blue finish and balanced spine formation.

Each plant shows variation due to its seed-grown origin, offering unique expressions while maintaining the overall character of the cross.

Genetics & Parentage

Trichocereus peruvianus ‘Sharxx Blue’

An iconic clone originally grown from Ikaros DNA seed, widely recognised for its deep blue colour, clean ribs, and strong aesthetic appeal. This clone was originally distributed by a SAAB form member with the same name (Sharxx), and is one of the most famous clones around.

Ikaros DNA (Matucan, Peru)

Seed collected from wild populations in the Matucan region by Julio (Ikaros), known for producing vigorous, diverse Peruvianus-type plants with strong natural traits.

This cross combines elite clone consistency with wild genetic diversity and vigour.

Classification within Trichocereus can vary between growers, but both parent lines are highly regarded for their distinct and desirable characteristics.

What to Expect

  • Growth rate: Moderate to fast
  • Mature form: Tall, columnar, well-structured
  • Colour: Blue to deep glaucous
  • Spines: Moderate, variable
  • Difficulty: Easy to moderate

Grower Notes

Performs well in UK greenhouse conditions and responds strongly to heat, feeding, and good airflow.

Steps For Rooting

Once the cut is received, place it around 1/2 inch to 1 inch in a pot of substrate. I use wooden kebab skewers to hold up the piece. Water lightly and you should start getting new root growth within a few weeks to a few months depending on conditions.

An alternative way would be to stick them in perlite and wait for them to root, once roots form you can re-pot.

All plants sold are strictly for garden / ornamental purposes, not for human consumption. We are here to cultivate these beautiful plants and spread them as far as we can, nothing outside of growing (all things related to growing) will be tollerated.
